Women’s Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom
What an adventure we had!
Our day started at 4:30am as we headed up to Simon Fraser University to catch the bus to Cypress Mountain. The weather did not want to work with us. We had rain and sideways wind.
The event was a blast and a once in a lifetime opportunity.
At the mountain there was much to see. There were paintings of people that would later be auctioned off. There were also people in blue and green masks that walked around and snuck up on people.
Check out all the stairs we are about to climb. This is just the start, as once we got around the corner we had to climb up to our seats. I was told it was around 215 stairs.
As you can see it is a litle foggy
Photo on the left is our USA girl crossing the finish line. For some reason when they cross they all fall down. We where thinking it was a way of stopping.
The rain kept coming so Heidi got us some garbage bags to help us stay dry.
Since we were fogged in most of the day here is a quick glimpse of the starting gate.
Just wanted to show everyone how wet it really was. This is what we walked in for part of the way to get to the event.

After our event we went to Vancouver to check out the Caldron.
